It Is during times such as these The Most High rescues the afflicted, opening theirs to pay attention to His voice during times of oppression. He leads us by the hand, if we let Him, away from danger and delivers us into spacious and broad place for our feet with a table full of richness set before us. But it takes striving to enter in…enter in through the small gate and narrow way that leads to life. The word speaks that only a few find it.
Now, if you and I do not go through the narrow, how can we come into the broad? There in the broad place, a city is built and full of all good things: The entrance thereof is narrow, set upon a precipice with fire on the right and deep water on the left. There is only this narrow path, made for one, to pass through. There, just on the other side, awaits our inheritance prepared. But how can you or I obtain if we do not persist, endure, and pass through the dangers to receive it?
This time, not only these last few months, but the sum of the years of life on this side of heaven, has been made narrow, full of sorrow, travail, evil, perils,…and the days, in comparison to eternity, are few and very painful. Not to diminish the moments of joy, laughter, or contentment, but it simply cannot be compared to what awaits the righteous. The promise of an entrance into the broad place with immortal fruit set before us is sure and trustworthy. Yah has given us strait commandments of what we should do and observe to live, avoid punishment, and enter the broad place, which is the rest He has appointed by His own hand. Furthermore, Yah empowered us to live that life by His Spirit. By His Spirit, He wills in us to do according to what pleases Himself, continually equipping and preparing us to move when He moves. Even now, during this time of rest in His Presence, as always, The Most High is equipping us with those things that we need for the next stretch of the journey.
I exhort you to keep your eyes on Him every step of the way. Keep your ears attuned to His still, small voice leading and instructing you when, where, how to move, and with whom. Keep your eyes on the prize and strive, strive to enter in through the narrow way. Truly, He is our exceeding great reward…and even now I am reminded of the words of the psalmist…” better is one day in Yah’s courts than a thousand elsewhere.” When we see Him, we will realize it has only been a day, and we will count Him, as well as, the beauty of His Presence, more than worthy of the journey that was required. Continue to strive, persist, and endure in righteousness.
